If you are searching for a particular topic, try to come up with keywords that best identify your topic. Then, try a keyword search in the LCCC Library Catalog.  Follow the steps below:

  1. Type the keywords In the text box at the top of the page. If you are searching for a phrase (e.g., capital punishment), enclose it in quotation marks.
  2. Click Submit.
  3. If a single item is found that matches the keywords you typed, the item record opens. View the title, subject headings, and table of contents, if included, to determine whether the item might be useful. Go to step 6.

If more than one matching entry is found, the catalog will list the results. Go to step 5.
  4. Review the titles of the items listed. If the title does not give you enough information to determine whether the item fits your needs, click the title to view the item record, especially subject headings and the table of contents, if included in the item record.
  5. If the item is one that you would like to find on the shelf, check the item's status. If the STATUS column displays CHECK SHELVES, the item is available. Note the item’s location and write down the entire call number so that you can locate the item on the shelf.
