Physical (Print) Books

First, locate the book you want in the Bass Library stacks and take the book to the Circulation Desk on the 2nd floor of the library. Your library card is either your student ID card that was created in the library, an EPL card, or a community user card, depending on your status. Provide both the book and the library card to the desk for checkout.

For questions about how long a book can be checked out for, see this FAQ.

For questions about how many print books can be checked out at once, see this FAQ.

To view information about library fines and fees, view our Library Policies page, linked at the bottom.

Also, for information about book locations and how to search for books, refer to our library guide titled "Search the Library Catalog" linked below.

Note: EPL and Community Borrowers are not able to access LCCC eBooks from off-campus.

For questions about accessing books from O'Reilly (Safari) Online, visit this FAQ.

For questions specifically about Gale eBooks, visit this FAQ.

For other eBooks, first go to the OneSearch located on the library main page and enter in a title, author, or subject search. On the results page under the Refine Results column, look for the Source Types filter. Select "Show More" and select the checkbox for eBooks.

Be sure your Full Text filter is selected on the filter column to narrow to eBooks we have immediate full text access to.

Once you have located the eBook you would like to access, scroll under the title to the links for access. The most common access links are "PDF Full Text" or "Connect to Resource":

If you are off-campus, you will be prompted to sign in before accessing the eBook. Please see the Off-Campus Access guide linked below.

Depending on which database the eBook is coming from, it may take you directly to the book after logging in, or it may take you to a record page with a link to access the eBook. If you need additional support finding or accessing eBooks, please contact the library using our contact options on the Ask the Library page.
