The format for citing depends on the style your instructor has requested for your research paper. MLA and APA are the most common styles used at LCCC.
From the MLA Handbook, 9th ed.:
To document two or more works by the same author, give the author's name in the first entry only. Thereafter, in place of the name, type three hyphens which stand for exactly the same name as in the preceding entry and are usually followed by a period and then by the source's title (221). For example:
Borroff, Marie. Language and the Poet.....
---. Sound Symbolism...
From the APA Manual, 7th ed.:
When ordering multiple works by the same first author in the reference list, include the author's name in every entry. One-author entries should be arranged by year of publication, the earliest first. References with no date precede references with dates (304-305). For example:
Patel, S. N. (2016).
Patel, S. N. (2020).
American Psychological Association. (2019). Publication manual of the American Psychological Association (7th ed.). American Psychological Association.
The Modern Language Association of America. (2021). MLA handbook (9th ed.). Modern Language Association of America.
